The Festival of Colors

This year was our first time at the lovely madness that is Holi, the Festival of Colors, at your local Krishna temple in Spanish Fork. It was like a powdered-chalk-color Woodstock.

It took some crazy driving maneuvers, but we got in--after some, but before the herd of thousands that were lined up on in cars or walking or running on Main St. The colors were already starting to rain as we pulled up.

With our green and pink chalks (given to us by some kind donors), we proceeded to become human rainbows. Jarom took charge of this one (surprised?).

Bella was initially unhappy with being doused.

Then she changed her mind!

you can tell jarom had WAY too much fun at this! i love the first picture of amy and the two boys, mainly just because it is just sweet, but also the impish look on jarom's face. it makes me laugh a little to think of that chalk-covered family pic being your next christmas card! people never know where you guys will show up and what adventures you'll go on next! this festival looks amazing; i've never heard of it before and someday i hope to attend myself. looks so fun! anyway can't wait to see what you're going to post next...you've got a lot to cover!

don't keep me in suspense too long with this weekend's funness!!

ummmm, hi.? These pictures are.....bizarre? This looks like a little too much weird fun. I love it. I can't wait to go back and read it. I just had to say this, initially.

baffled that this goes in UTAH of all places?!!! Who attends this? Actual Krishna followers or tons of spectators?....really weird. Do Jack mormons turn krishna? The song takes me back to the krishna days when I would chant with mike at the gatherings...so much delicious vegetarian food, like flavors that were SOOO delicious and I can't find anywhere else.

What the.....
My fave pic, matt's face after Jarom's green throw. Your family is so fun, I love your open minds and free spirits and CONTINOUS sense adventure!

Total awesomeness! I think Sheila's right, everyone needs a little Beatty Family juice and get out there and explore! :) Can't wait to hear more about your adventures in Ghana and your trip to So Cal! Geez, you guys are gonna need a vacation from all your vacations. Wish I was there in Disneyland with you. Are y'all still up to the lego land trip this summer? If so, awesome, if not, we totally look forward to seeing you in a couple of months in Tahoe!
