We did our full moon lift ride a month early this year and it was so nice- not too freezing or crowded!! Filled up with goodies we were ready to go!
Our crazy family. Bella claimed that the flash made her go crossed-eyed. Which must be true because her eyes are crossed in every family pic that night.
My view. Think she got tired of crossing her eyes. Batman loved the moon!
It just tuckered him out.

i can't believe oey just kept that little mask on all day and night. what a bunch of cuties. that sounds so fun. is it every month? i want to do it sometime. i think i'd be a tiny bit scared.
Heather -- they do it May through October I think. We usually do it in October and it can be pretty freezing in the air up there!
I have to try countless times to get a good moon shot. It's as digital-zoomed as it'll go and I have to turn the white balance down or it's all washed out and I have to be amazingly steady (which isn't easy for me--I could never have been a surgeon).

That looks like so much fun. I love looking at the moon and the night sky! I bet the kids will remember this tradition for years to come.
Orion cracks me up, kids are so funny with their little things that they love! He's getting so big!
next year i'm coming for one of these. maybe we can coincide with a family moab trip. i want everyone to come enjoy the splendors of utah wilderness.
